Vic and the Secret Door

Chapter One "The Train Tracks"

Vic yawned loud, covering his mouth with his hand. If he didn't have to keep his eyes on the road he might have run over a pedestrian with how tired he was at the moment. A few of them hesitated to cross the streets when they saw the car moving from side to side.

"Gosh, Broly really takes it out of me." Vic's poor voice added to his comment, as it was barely there and came across rather squeaky.

The light in the sky was a darkish blue, like it was carpeted over the sun this time of night. Finally, Vic was able to pull in to his driveway.

A huge smile was on his fiancee's face, eager to have him home once again. Her eyes opened up wide as Vic almost fell asleep at the wheel, nearly taking out the mailbox.

She squealed running to his side, Vic laughed when he got out the door. "Hey Pookie Bear, how's it going?"

She shook her head. "You know, the driveway is for parking." She gave him a nudge as she walked through the front door.

Even with utter exhaustion, Vic sat down on his couch eager. "Star Trek is on! Eeeeee!"

He sounded like one of the many girls at his panels in the presence of a Star Trek episode. Kicking his feet up, he pressed the on button on his remote. But instead of seeing the Starship Enterprise, Vic was surprised at a completely blurry screen.

Vic's eyebrows lowered a little, it was making a loud static whine. He got up, fiddling with the back of the TV. "Come on!"

After a few moments in vain, Vic came across quite a different problem. The room around him started to shake. Needless to say Vic felt as if his house's warp drive was activated. The room started to go into a haze with different colors surrounding him, Vic could only clutch onto his couch watching in silent panic.

"Argggg… my head." Vic pressed his hands to his eyes slowly, he felt rather melancholy. But he was pleased his voice started to come back to him.

He felt a cold metal pressed against his elbow, it was bothersome but he couldn't see fully just yet. His eyes still hurt after seeing the odd blend of colors that had come into being.

"HEY!!! GET OFF THE TRACKS!!!!"

Vic's head jerked; looking back he saw a pair of headlights coming his direction and the loud sound of a whistle. He had enough time to stand up, but by this time it seemed far too late to get out of the way.

"YOU'RE GOING TO GET HIT BY THE TRAIN!!!!"

The echoing voice behind him got louder and louder, and his eyes came into focus. The train was coming fast, only seconds and it would come to his section of the track. He blinked, and instead of feeling the impact, he was thrown on a grassy surface.

Standing there against the train's side with his blond hair flowing back was a young man with golden eyes. The train passed them by without slowing its pace, but he looked as if he was ready to throw himself in front of it just to avoid a casualty.

"No way, I have to be dreaming or something." Vic looked up rather skeptically, thinking it weird to be feeling the symptoms of someone drinking when he hadn't touched any alcohol in his life.

Running with a rather loud clunking noise in each step was what appeared to be a huge suited man in armor. But what came out was the voice of a young boy. "BROTHER! YOU NEARLY GOT KILLED THERE!!!"

"WELL WHAT DID YOU EXPECT ME TO DO AL?! LET THIS IDIOT GET HIT BY THE TRAIN?!!!" The boy screeched in a high pitched battering way.

The suit of armor could make no expression, but you could tell he was putting up with the other's impulsive antics.

"Ed?" Vic could not believe what he was saying; it was as if he was sucked into some crazy Fan Girl's Fan Fiction or something.

The boy's pupils got smaller in surprise. "How'd you know my name, Pops?"
"Pops?!" Vic sounded a little irritated.

Ed smiled. "Well you nearly got flattened; have a death wish or something?"
Al shook his head. "Brother stop that. Mom always said we're supposed to respect our elders."

Vic squinted his eyes a little, Al's comment being very similar to Ed's though more subtle.

"Seriously though, how did you know my name?" Ed looked at him suspiciously.

Vic was still processing all of this himself; it didn't quite feel real to him. All the conclusions he could come to still felt fictional.

"I'm your voice?" Vic said, not really knowing how to explain to Ed what he couldn't understand himself.

Both of them looked at him like he was crazy, and decided to 'playing along'.

"Sure you are, Pops." Ed said sarcastically, signaling to Al that this guy was not all there.

Vic sighed, taking in a breath of air to prove it to him.

"WHO'RE YOU CALLING SO SMALL YOU WANT TO CRUSH LIKE AN ANT?!!" Vic was out of breath by the time he finished, his eyes swirled.

Alphonse could not hold in the laughter, it came out echoing from the suit of armor's effect. "You got him so perfect!!!!"

Ed's eyes twitched, considering what might be the equivalent punishment to kicking this guy's ass.
